About Me

We Can’t All Be Professional Photographers…

Let me start out by saying that I’m a terrible photographer. In fact, to call me a photographer at all is a stretch of the imagination.  I don’t own a fancy DSLR camera and shoot most pictures with my iPhone. My pictures are almost always of my dogs and usually end up looking something like this…

Life’s little moments…

We have a fascination with sharing our lives and peering into the weird lives of one another.  Just look at the popularity of social media. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter have given us the ability to observe each other in a way we’ve never had before. By analyzing other people’s lives, we gain a better understanding of ourselves.

Ultimately I think there’s a little photographer in all of us.  It doesn’t take a fancy camera, formal education, or even great photos to be a photographer.  It takes a moment in time and a love of capturing that moment to share with the world.

About Me

Terrible Photographer

I’m the mother of two awesome kids and two amazing dogs living in Southern Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay.  I run an Etsy Shop called Retrospective66co that specializes in film photography and vintage camera equipment.  While I might not be a great photographer, I have an absolute fascination with cameras and how they work.  My goal is to help amateur photographers learn more about photography and not feel intimidated by all the fancy equipment and jargon.
